Another memorable experience of going to Yankee Lake was going to he bar as child with my parents. I would always look forward to seeing the Mayor. What a wonderful guy. I can close my eyes and see him now walking down the hallway from the backroom past the bathrooms wearing his dark pants, white shirt, suspenders, and black pointed glasses. It never failed everytime i was there he always had a pack of Wrigley's gum in his pocket to give me. It's rather haunting because here I am 33 yrs old now and when ever I go there I still think he's going to come down the hallway with a pack of gum for me. I know you can't base much off of getting a pack of gun from a man, but I can say he was a very giving and kind hearted man everytime me and my family were there.
The Mayor....what a great man!

He was at that. In his later years I would drive The Mayor, my Grandfather, around town to do his banking and he always brought along sweets for the tellers, candies and quarters for the kids and a huge smile and his famous laugh when he greeted everyone. I heard a story once that when Paul Jurko was in the old movie house in Sharon and he laughed, everyone know he was there, even in a dark crowded theater!
