As of right now I am shooting the first video interview this Thursday with Bill Maine (Ski instructor at Yankee Lake 1962-63). Then I am leaving on Friday for a week trip to Florida. There I will interview my 92 yr old Uncle John Krivosh and my cousing Jonelle. I'm also going to make a stop in Jacksonville and interview my Aunt Paula and Uncle Jack. So when I get back I should have a lot of new information and stories, and possibly some more pictures. I will keep you updated on how it all goes.
As far as a time frame: I would like to have most if not all of the video interviews completed within the next 3 months. There is also quite a bit of library and records research to complete. This could continue well into the next 6 month's before I am satisfied that I have found everything that I need. As I complete my interviews and research I will put it all into a story format and begin combining them with photos and footage. Other things I still need to do are select music and aquire the rights, locate stock footage from the archives, do some more research on the area during prohibition, the depression and the World Wars. So all in all there is quite a bit left to do.
Right now my projected deadline for the complete finished film is about one year from now. If I manage that then it will be completed just in time to send in to Cannes Film Festival. After that I will shoot for Sundance in the US and finally the smaller international festivals. If all goes well I will get accepted at one of the big festivals and have the chance to be picked up by a larger studio. So until all of the appropriate festivals have been attempted I will not be showing the film publicly. Although there is a chance I will have a private screening with interested members of the community and those that helped out. I'll keep you posted on that. All in all it will be at least a year before you will have a chance to see the final product.
But I will keep updating this site and adding stories to it in the future. I may also put together a preview made from the interviews I am soon to shoot. So at least you will get a little taste of what's to come. Hope that answers all your questions for now.
